I've recently noticed something like this. Well, this "token" is probably one of those Chinese cash imitations that even don't pretend to be original. My question is as follows: since when is this thing even eligible for grading? (the grading company is called "EEC/GCN" and is placed somewhere here in Poland, so you're rather unlikely to encounter these slabs in the US)

I've heard of this company, oh about six months or so ago but I really don't know anything about it, nor do I have an example in my reference set. Where did you see this one at? The company has a website but no english translation. http://www.eccgrading.pl/Translations have not been too efective so far but I'm slowly figuring it out I think. As to since when is something like that piece eligible for grading, when the company doing the grading decided it was. Each company sets its own rules for what they will grade and what they won't.

I've found it on the net, here in Poland, up for sale.
EEC/GGN is known here for overgrading AND for the fact that people send in coins and receive their specimen back, but scratched. Or with lots of fingerprints. Or wrongly labeled. Or even (or so they say) a completely different coin.. to cut it short, they have a bad opinion.

"In the 10th anniversary of our functioning, with the assistance of the British firm European Coin Company and with the packing company ECC Poland we are introducing in the fall of 2006 grading in our country"
So as I thought, they started fairly recently.
"We employ experts in Polish, German and English-American grading". "Grading price. Coin value $0,5-$750 = $14.50".
Anyway, on the site, they do not state what is eligible for grading and what is not..

I would assume then that they are commonly available there in Poland. I also saw under their grading link that they appear to have several different holograms. There seems to be some kind of an explanation for them but I don't have it figured out yet.
Could you drop me an email so we could discuss the possibility of you picking up some examples of this holder for me? You should be able to find my email address in my profile. Click my name above the avatar.

There seem to be no clear information about those 5 holograms.
Edit. The email keeps getting returned. Conder101, please try sending it..

Recently, I've noticed an influx of weird slabs over here. Till now, most of all graded coins were the local EEC/GCN (pictured above)and NGC or PCGS surfaced rarely. However, since about two weeks, lots of SGS appeared (all being MS70s of course) and these. I'd like to ask you, as you probably know, what grading companies are these?

DL20K, what are some respected slab holders in Poland? Also, where in Poland are you located?

The UNC and ANI slabs are quite prevalent on ebay. As far as I know, they are along the same lines as SGS. You can pop the holders open with your fingernail, usually.

Quote: What are some respected slab holders in Poland? NGC and PCGS, however rarely they appear There is only one company in Poland (the GCN) which is not respected at all. Okay there is said to be a second one but I've seen no slabs of it yet. Quote: Also, where in Poland are you located? North-West. Not where the grading is done xshift, thanks for the information!

So I guess your somewhere near Poznan? That's the only one I can remember right now from the north west. I only remember it since my mom's from there.

I'm 3 hours from Poznan, but I'd say that yes, you are correct, as it is the nearest large city!
