*** Edited by Staff to crop and rotate images. Please crop and correctly orient images before uploading. If you do not have software to do this you can use the free image optimizer. ***I saw this gold colored penny looked for info on the web, what I understand is it has a satin finish meant for collectors and ended up in my hand first couple weeks starting to collect. Is this valuable even though it's been circulated? If so where do you sell a coin like this? Also I haven't figured out how to determine any errors with the letters so if there is any please let me know. Thank you!

Please rotate photos properly. Thanks. Looks like a normal cent that has toned. Not a satin finish. John1

Not a satin finish. It's a normal coin.
Errers and Varietys.

Here is a pic that will hopefully show you how far apart it stands out from other coins. I apologize for any pic issues I have been using the free image optimization tool. I didn't see any rotation problem. If it happens again I'll crop them down to size with a phone application. Do you still feel it's not a satin finish? To me it stands out more than any other penny I've seen in circulation. Thank you for opinions.

I just found the same penny that you are talking about. Your photos still doesn't show the true color of what that penny looks like. It's nothing that I have ever seen either. Let me know if you find out anything.. I can post a photo of mine if you want?

Satin coins are not shiny. Kind of like the matte look on them.

I found this same penny and it really IS different . I understand that there can be varying amounts of zinc , etc. but this one really stands out. Can't help but think it's more than just a regular penny. But what do I know ? Not a whole lot !

I heard it mentioned that when the coins were plated, there was some zinc from an planchet in the plating mix that caused the brass appearance on the plating.
