Ok so what you see in the picture is metal (zinc copper) pressed onto a penny you can see reverse upside down date and lettering, the finish is smooth as glass except for the edges of the affected area only... please help me out I have been looking at penny errors and errors all together for 3 days now nd have not seen anything like this I will post anything you need to help identify it! Thanks everyone! *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

You have glue on your coin. Another cent was glued face-to-face to yours. You can probably scrape it off or acetone may remove it if you wanna go to that length.

I wouldn't waste anyone's time with glue being on the coin I assure you this is metal 100%.

Yup...can't normally see through metal so the only way to read "Liberty" is through a clear substance aka glue or goop of some kind

Acetone does not remove "all" glues. It may be epoxy, and I don't think acetone removes that. What ever it is,it is adhered to the coin aka glue. John1

with all above, one simple clue is to be able to see and read the devices Underneath this substance, if it were metal then you wouldn't have been able to see through it.You need to let it go

It isn't zinc, it is transparent aluminum from the Star trek movie. since that comes from the future, your error won't be in the books for a couple of centuries.
KIDDING ASIDE,that is glue. If you only have 3 days of coin hunting, you may want to consider the opinions of those who have decades as being valid when it comes to error coins.

That's glue on your coin. It should come off, if you scrap it with a toothpick.
