Hi all,
First - this same question has been posted to german emuenzen -forum, but I figured I'll post this one also here, in case I'd find someone specializing in German notes.

My concern are Wehrmacht 2 Reichsmark Lagergeld notes, or their color variations. First some background information: I've known for a long time that there should be two varieties, Rosenberg Catalog lists these as Ro.519a with blue paper and Ro.519b with white paper. I bought two of these notes over 10 years ago and have always considered that I have had both 519a and 519b in my collection.

Recently, I thought my 519b or 'white note' is in a bit rough shape and though I should get a new one. No problem, went online and bought a new one, accidentally getting a 519a 'blue note' - this was my error, and am currently resolving the matter with seller.

Now to the actual question(s): the top and bottom notes are the ones I bought 10 years ago. Top one being clearly turquoise/blue and the bottom one I've always assumed to be discolored/dirty grayish-white ie. a 'white note'. The recently acquired one, now in the middle, the color on this one does not seem to match in any way to either of my previous notes. It has a bit of a turquoise color, but quite significant greenish hue.

All notes also carry the correct watermarks and none of the notes react to black light either.

So my questions:

- Does anyone know, if there are more than one variety of the blue color? I was thinking that the middle one might be faded blue, but there are quite a lot of 2RM notes available, with this color.

- Is my more blue note a fake, though it carries the right watermark. On the other hand, why would anyone bother faking this one, since the blue note is the cheaper variant AFAIK.

- Provided the more blue note is a genuine, is this color variant rare?

- How about the bottom one, compared to other two notes - is my beat up note possibly the 'white variant', which I think would be the most valuable, even in rough condition?

All information, or even speculation, would be highly welcomed :)

Best regards,
-JJ-

This response was to 'owatchman', but it seems he/she already removed his post. However, my post contains some elaborating information, hence I won't remove this one.

I know about the two varieties, blue and white. But I have currently at hand three notes, that are printed on significantly different colored papers. The picture does not tell the true story, in real life:

- the top one looks quite turquoise / turkish blue.
- the middle one has turquoise 'flavour', but has very distinctive, green hue.
- the bottom one is more of a sand or beige color, which I have assumed to be dirty/smudged white

I think my main question would be; are there several different varieties of 'blue paper' identified? And follow-up question, since the 'deep blue' 2RM notes I have rarely seen, most of the 'blue ones' seem to be of greenish color - is the deeper blue variant somewhat rare specimen, by any chance?
