Volvicch Valued Member Spain 112 Posts	Posted 10/10/2018 09:22 am So this pillar dollar was up for auction yesterday at an online auction house here in Spain. The coin was beautiful, it had the 6 leaf rosette on the reverse, beautiful patina and a point between the two globes and the crown on the obverse, which I haven't seen before. A friend told me that there were about 100 of these known to exist, in the end it went for 420 euros. I'm regretting that I didn't pull the trigger on it. Someday it (or one like it) will be mine... realeswatcher Pillar of the Community United States 1962 Posts	Posted 10/10/2018 1:02 pm When you asked about the 6-petal rosette the other day, I did a quick search and there were at least a dozen examples in auction archives... Always be wary of rarity estimates on obscure varieties that perhaps not enough people care enough about to look for! PS - this really should be combined into your other thread about this...
