This is the other GW Presidential dollar I received in change and it is a 2007 D. The bottoms of the lettering above the bust on the obverse looks different from the other 2007 Presidential dollar I posted about earlier. Are these bottoms a normal part of the design? Also, the tops of some of the lettering on the bottom letters under the bust show the same thing as the bottoms on the lettering above the bust. It appears that the movement of all the lettering in question is moving towards the center and not the rim. Insight please.

Looks normal to me. I don't see anything different comparing the two.

I have gone through perhaps a few Thousand of G.W. $s and your coin shows a normal lettering with a typical striking, I think what you see is the Die wear that has effected the devices. The best way to make your comparison is by using new, uncirculated coin for a more accurate diagnosis.

Thanks David and Chase! I don't collect these and my first thought was die wear but if your unsure, ask the experts!

Looks like some bifurcated lettering going on. That's the dimples you see above all the uprights of the letters and that is a function of strike and die filling.
