Hello and

If you're referring to the concentric circular groove just inside of the rim, that is most likely damage by a coin rolling machine.

What does the reverse look like? Might have something if the corn leaves are "non-standard".

@Jelaine0822, first welcome to CCF. Second, I agree with @CN that your quarter has been damaged. Unless there is something special about it other than that circular scratch, it can be spent as it is worth only face value.

This is a common posting on the forum.
As stated, just machine damage.

Also a correction in your terminology for the future,
currency is printed, coins are minted.
