I wish I'd have gotten the "two coin set" in 2001...proof and uncirculated Silver 1oz Buffalos. Instead of 7-8 years later paying silver increase prices and premiums!
And there was also the "Coinage and Currency set" in 2001, with the uncirculated Buffalo silver dollar, the "reprint indian Chief Silver Certificate, and the Bison and Red Cloud stamps.........
But I certainly don't want to pay an "over issue price" for any of that now.
Anybody know what the "sets" are going for now ?

Thanks Coinaholic......What was the issue price on these whem they came out?

Brucec...
(by the way..i have Redbooks....but their prices aren't reliable and they're WAY over exaggerated on most things.....so that's what I meant by "what are they going for"......Ebay/coin shops/online/etc)
compare Coinaholics online dealer prices to that of the Redbook for these two "sets" and you'll see quite the descrepancy!!........NEVER go by the values listed in RedBook for ANYTHING !...

From the U.S. Mint archives;

The proof silver dollar is available during the pre-issue period for $33 and for $37 thereafter. The uncirculated silver dollar is available for the pre-issue price of $30 and $32 thereafter. During the pre-issue period, the Two-Coin Set is available for $59.95 and for $64.95 thereafter. The Coinage and Currency Set will be available for $54.95 during the pre-issue period and for $59.95 thereafter. Coinaholic,
Actually, it makes me smile. I bought an uncirculated example in 2001 from the Mint for $30.

These all sold out at the pre-issue prices and have remained very popular with the public. The US Mint stood firm on not minting more than 500,000 total, despite the Congressmen and Senators that bellyached about the short selling period these coins had. So it's only been in the last couple years that the Mint has gotten greedy! lol
