Hi,

This seems to be a cast copy of an Augustus denarius (one of the many RIC210 varients).

Among the indicators that this is a forgery are
1. The softness of the features - they are not sharp as would be the case if the coin was struck but soft due to imperfections in the mould
2. While the colour is a bad indicator of this (coins rarely are shown in their true colour on the net) the shading pattern of the coin indicates un-natural wear
3. There are a couple of "dots" especially on the obverse - indicating an area of imperfection in the mould
4. Similarly for small porous holes - a very good indicator of a cast

Hope this helps

Malcolm
