Why I'm saying master die - letters and everything other look rised.
As a crazy idea it can be rounded piece of metal with a dime in center, and mirrored photos, but it's too stupid idea to make this

Not quit sure what it is but it's not a master die.
The devices would be incuse on a master die and it would
be made from rolled stock, not a flat piece of metal.
Your idea of a dime with a mirror image sounds more feasible
if you have not seen this in person.

That's not a die. A die is a cylinder, not a disc. This is either a hub trial or, more likely because it has a date and mintmark and comes from Russia, a good old Vise Job. A "selfie" of a dime on a metal disc is also very feasible, most likely intended to deceive.

A cylinder looked at straight down form the end looks like guess what, a disc.

From the lighting the rims appear to be higher than the fields, and when I enlarge the image I think I can see reeding at the edge. I think it is a reversed image of a dime sitting on a piece of metal.

Definitely not a die, it's something somebody created for who knows what reason.

Very interesting! We'll never know for sure what this is exactly, and why it was made. Definitely makes a great conversational piece.
