Are many of you roll searchers finding a lot of foreign coins other than Canadian? Searching penny rolls heavily for 4 months I have only found 5: 1971 Gret Britain"New Penny" 2002 Euro 2-cent 2001 Panama "Centisimo de Balboa" 1999 Swedish "50 Ore" 1983 Zambia "1 Ngwee" It really is cool finding these coins even though they are not what I am looking for. What kind of foreign coins are the rest of you finding in U.S. rolls?

I've also found a Panamanian Centisimo, which incidentally was struck on a copper/zinc planchet in Canada. That Zambian coin is a pretty cool find!

I regularly find Euros, Canadians, and Caribbean coins. In the last month or so, I've found 3 Euros, 1 Mexico, and 1 Bahamas, not counting Canadian.

Kurts, the Zambian coin is also a cool looking coin. I don't know which is the obverse and reverse on it but it pictures an aardvark(or anteater, can't tell which for sure).

I found a coin from the Cayman Islands a couple of weeks back. MY best find ever was a nickel roll that had a nickel at each end and the entire inside was stuffed with British pound coins. I actually found 2 rolls like this.

I have found coins from all over the world while coin roll searching: Africa, Asia, Middle East, Europe, South America, Mexico, but most have been from Canada. Luckily, a few of those foreign canadian finds were silver quarters and dimes!

I get foreign coins all the time. I get so many of them that I just dump them in a jar on my desk and then sort through that ever month or so. Euro cents, GB pennies 10p and 20p, and coins from the Caribbean are all fairly regular. I've also gotten coins from Ecuador, Panama, Czech Republic, India and Thailand in the last month.

KurtS- well, this was about 8 years ago when I found those rolls. And the only explanation that I have is that the person just figured that they were never going to England and the coins were just dead weight...or the person was just really dumb.

The oddest coin I have found was in my change from an grocey store, it was a 1939 Reichs Pfennig minted in Berlin

Finding a coin with such an obvious sign as a swastika in circulation? I wonder how did that get there?

Will banks sell you foreign coins they get? I know they trade in foreign currency but most won't bother with coins.

Here they don't bother, just like you said. Sometimes they even put signs on their doors that they don't accept foreign coins.

DL, I often wondered at that too, but the ironic part is it was change from an ALDI grocery store
