I was told by TD that the new $10 bill will be out next week. They are getting a shipment on Wednesday.

Good to hear but no official announcement from the BOC that I could find. Time to make some stops before the launch and hope that I can convince a teller or two to set some aside for me.

Figured it would be later than that but given that the RCM will be promoting the Armistice coins, perhaps the central bank wanted to get a head start and avoid drowning each other out.

- perhaps some of us make it sound so easy but it really isn't quite as smooth as it may sound (& seems to be getting more and more challenging). A few years back I had a nervous teller inform me that her manager wanted to talke to me in private. The gist of our talk was that he felt I was a security risk & wanted a letter to explain my hobby (which I ended up writing to him).

Typically, orders (for new notes or large quantities) must be made up to a week in advance & they don't always pan out. If they don't have them one must practice one's best smile and ask kindly when they will have them.

I also make sure to disperse of them at other branches. On the CPMF, we had large threads on this topic.

I went to the bank on Wed and again today. The teller must have passed on a rumour. No such luck for the $10. I guess we will start seeing them on the 19th or sometime thereafter.

Monday, November 19th may be the Media Release date but not sure when the banks will be seeing the new $10 since anyone I have spoken to (at various branches) haven't had a clue of what I was talking about.

More specific info to follow through their Media Advisories...
