Looks like a partial collar issue.

Pretty much rivals the strongest MAD I've seen (about the same on a 1966), but the 1966 did not have the partial collar. Yours is a dandy.

That's nice. Never ran across that combo before...but hope I do.

Not wanting to make waves here so be kind. I have seen the indenting on the edge before, and someone here on CCF said it was damage from a machine most likely. Maybe a wrapper/counter. As to MAD,none of the devises are missing so not a keeper,LOL. Technically true yes? I would for sure keep it if I found it. Nice find Tanman2001. John1

John1: The coins thinking of were flattened on the edges. Thus making a dimple on the edge. That thought occurred to me when I saw the first image, but the other images convinced me that was not the issue. On a partial collar, some of the edge is above the collar, thus not altered. This may have altered the area we spotted on this coin. But the other areas show the partial collar.

I figured I would pull the strongest MAD in my collection and see if it had anything like a partial collar. This 1967 is pretty far off so sorta comparable. I do not see a partial collar on it, but there is a bit of what appears to be overhanging copper along the edge of the rim on the obverse side. While OP's coin looks like a partial collar, this one I would say is just a bit of extra metal smashed over the edge during the strike and not related to a collar problem. But anyway, here is another example of a strong MAD for comparison. (I should add that the overhanging bit centers on GOD and goes less than half way around the coin) 1967 Lincoln Memorial cent - mis-aligned die
