@CD1978, doesn't the doubling look "shelf-like"? If so, then most likely you have common Machine Doubling.

Definitely shelf like and I was thinking MD as well, but for some reason I was under the impression that most Machine Doubling happened towards the rim and less towards the center. I haven't looked at a ton of these Washingtons like some of the people here but I'd say I've looked at my share and never seen this kind of action on the eye before. Maybe the ones I'm looking at have just been too worn out 2 notice ... Yo No Se . Still learning and I appreciate the feedback one way or another!

Thanks for rotating the picture Dorado! Sorry about that. The reverse definitely looks like Machine Doubling and some die fatigue but what I was mainly interested in is all of the splatter and trash around the doubling. I haven't seen that too many times but again I have not seen thousands of these things either. The picture doesn't really do it justice there's definitely more that I can see with my handlense than shows up on the camera.

with MD. Any area can be affected and sometimes in multiple ways because the entire die moves.

Wexler lists no doubled dies for this years quarter from any mint.
