Hey Guys, I just sent this indian head in and got a questionable color ungradeable. Can anyone help me understand why, and if it may be worth trying to re-send in or send over to NGC?

The coin has no luster, and zooming in on the pictures you can see many fine lines crossing the coin in the same direction, like it has been cleaned. Maybe with the questionable color PCGS means it thinks the coin was scrubbed in an attempt to get the coin to grade as RD instead of BN or RB? I'm not sure, but I would definitely call it cleaned.

it's not obvious to me. the small area above the bow in the wreath looks a little odd.

Grayish blue areas are usually a good sign of recolored IHC's but this one is borderline. I'd crack it out and send it to NGC -- word around town is that PCGS has been making some very dubious "questionable color" calls lately.

Correct, cleaned and re-toned. Very unnatural looking.
