@fin, it looks more like Machine Doubling to me. Have you already looked on variety vista?

First it would be called a doubled die ,not double die. Please rotate photos properly before posting. I see the sane thing on the 2 as on the mint mark. The glare and shadowing are causing problems.Check some reference sites and also look at mint mark from all angles.

It's Machine Doubling. Note how the mint mark is reduced in size? A real Doubled Die would increase the size of the devices.
