The proof nickels begin produced by the San Francisco Mint do NOT have any silver content. Is that a correct statement on my part?

The only nickels that contain silver are the 35% silver ones from WWII era,1942-1945.Only proof is 1942.

Thank you both VERY much. I was starting to get conflicting information and it just made no sense to me at all.

San Francisco mint didn't make proof nickels until 1968....so the 1942 proof is irrelevant to the topic.

The greatest thing about proof Jeffs., particularly found ones,

is that there's a boatload of doubled dies. Even 3X or 4.
