The raised lip of metal above the date shows that the coin was originally struck with the core in it... Oh, and to CCF. rocky Pillar of the Community Canada 2784 Posts	Posted 11/02/2018 4:28 pm Candy32 welcome to the forum. couple questions: did this coin come out of a shrink wrap. was in a special mint wrap paper. when I look at your coin on the reverse is part of the A in canada missing. Also, The edges look a little distorted but it's hard to notice if your not holding it. The edges are actually raised above each letter printed on the side giving it that bumpy look... rocky Pillar of the Community Canada 2784 Posts	Posted 11/02/2018 9:10 pm Candy32 those Security stamps on the side of the toonies. there is a group of toonie collector on another forum. that class them as A and B. when the Security letters Orientation are facing upwards towards. the pollar bear they are listed as A type. when facing toward the queen Elizabeth. they are listed as B type. john100 Pillar of the Community Canada 5324 Posts	Posted 11/02/2018 9:42 pm The edge lettering is the cause of the bumps on the rim, the planchets are aligned by random chance so the letterings have equal chance of being heads or tail, those who pays extra for them are just miss informed Report this Post to the Staff
