I have collected 1976 Bicentennial Quarters for years, I just like them I guess. I have a 1976 D Bicentennial quarter that is different than the rest. The designer initials are thicker and there appears to be either a die dent or doubling near the bicep area on the left arm just above where the elbow bends. Its not what I normally collect and while I know the 1976 D has several Doubled dies. This one doesn't match so I do not believe I have a new one to list, at least I don't think so. Interesting quarter nonetheless. Tell me what you think.

Hey Jim, The bicep issue looks like a NE/SW die gouge. But one strong enough to clearly see on the full coin image so a dandy if that's what it is.

I've seen many minor doubled dies like this one, but a die gouge makes the most sense to me here. Neat find!

Thank you CoinCollector! I just looked at an uncirculated Siler S version and it does not have the die gouge.
