About 26mm diameter. I used a 30x loupe to try and enlarge the letters as much as possible but obviously they are very faint.

It doesn't look like a coin or token. It may be a tag used for some industrial purpose, somewhat like a "lockout" tag or electrical meter "lock."

I agree not a coin, but rather a tag of some sort. Is it made from lead or aluminum?

I see "ST. STEVAN GALL" -- can't make out the last word, might be something before the G too.

Edit to add: Maybe STEFAN or STEPAN, and is that a small "A" above and to the right, so the name is somewhat abbreviated? Web search isn't helping.

I am particularly interested in what Fuzzy317 said. I received this in a lot of coins from a seller in Pennsylvania that I buy from regularly. Most of the tokens I receive are from Pennsylvania and Delaware. I have also found railroad tokens from the same region in these lots. I wonder if it does have something to do with mining or railroads.

Alpha- man you have better eyes that I do, that's pretty good!
