Not sure if it is fake, just beat up a bit from haphazard storage. Pure gold is easily scratched/banged up, yes?

Looks legit to me. Just had a bit of a rough life. As previously mentioned, pure gold is very soft and will mark/ding easily.

That is either a very poorly struck counterfeit or spent a lot of time in someone's pocket. Either way, it's not worth the asking price and to re-sell that would be problematic.

The risk on this is too high. Given you can purchase 1 oz of gold (Maple, Brittania, Queens Beast etc.) from respected vendors in the UK (where this is located) for under 1,000 GBP (range is 960-990 GBP) where none of the quality or legitimacy risks exist...

The arithmetic just doesn't work on this one. Move on.
