Took a while to figure out this rather obvious RPM. Why? Because it doesn't look like the early die stages shown in the comparison photos, you have to go to Stage C on VV or LDS on CC (photos by that Cooper guy again).

After matching the die markers on CC with my coin I am satisfied that it is indeed that which is listed as RPM-054/1MM-054 in late die stage. But...

Just look at the thing, especially the size of the gap inside the mint mark. Where does this giant vertical bar come from between stage B and stage C? Looks like a different, unlisted RPM to me. VV page copied (hope that's okay) to make the comparison easier to see.

Plus my coin doesn't look all that LDS to me. Comments?

Awesome find! This is one of my favorite 1960-D RPMs. I found one on Christmas of last year. Congrats!

Just the way the die wore, or maybe a die chip happened inside the mint mark?

Is it me or does that look curiously like a third D MM?

Looking at the image of the date, I just can't see anything but super high-rise crisp devices and nothing indicating this is a late die stage coin. It has sharper detail that some stage B coins I've seen listed. But not my area of expertise, I just don't see it as LDS for that RPM, that's all.
