1991-D-Quarter-Is-It-Struck-Through-Grease?

If you look at the "In God We Trust", there is something extra. I think this could be Struck Through Grease, however, I am not certain. It could be that something broke off and somehow made this. Any ideas? And thanks for your help in my mission to learn all I can.

The are die scratches through that are. But maybe a chip has developed. Sometimes die wear can flow in that direction, but the dies doesn't look like the die state for that.

@FW, a struck through region of a coin would be in lower relief rather than higher. I agree that this looks more like a die chip.

Thank you everyone for helping me gain more knowledge. I look forward to the day I am able to help someone like that. Everyone has been so kind and believe I have found a wonderful place To grow as a collector. None of my family have any passion for the hobby like I do, and it made my day to be blessed with the opportunity to pick your brains. Thanks so much!!
