*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. Titles are Important! ***I am new to coin collecting. Found this 1992 d Lincoln Cent that I believe to be a Close AM? Not sure please provide any feedback, and info on best place to send error coins for grading. Thank you.

Nice find. Don't clean it. Leave it as it is. Tamper with it and you might loose out big time.

and congratulations! I think there are only a dozen or so of these confirmed to exist? Might have my numbers wrong but as a roll hunter it's good to know they're out there

Stupendous find. That is one we all hope to find and yours looks like it will grade AU with no damage. This variety in a PCGS holder auctions for between $900.00 - $1,275.00. Two and a half years ago they sold fast at $1,750.00 - $2000.00 more are being found with a population certified at approx. 87 examples. What a great coin to have acquired. Did you find it or purchase it raw? Welcome to the forum, you sure showed up with a bang.

Thank you for all the great information, very helpful. I am happy to be a part of the coin community. Since winter conditions has limited my metal detecting hobby, I started coin roll hunting which is how I found the 1992 d CAM. I have so much to learn about variety and error coins but with the help of great sites such as this one I'm confident my journey will be a success!!

Very nice find!! I had the pleasure of breaking the news to the hobby on the discovery of both the 1992 and 1992-D CAM in my Coin World feature articles and Numismatic News. My latest story on the 1992-D can be found at the link below. It touches base on the historical record of all the WAM and CAM (both proof and business strike) varieties for those who may be interested: https://www.numismaticnews.net/arti...e-pair-found
