I have a 1957 D quarter, and I thought it might be a DDO. Please take a look, I could use some help.

I am seeing a contact mark on the 5. I'm not seeing anything Doubled.

Looks like a poorly re-engraved die to me.

FYI: You might want to look at the reverse for the enhanced tail feathers variety known for that date.

Looks more like coin contact or ejection damage on the way out. (MD)

Re-engraving would happen on a die. This would make that area raised on the coin, not altered.

The devices are normal in size. Just the upper parts of the date appear damaged. If it were enlarged, it would be a doubled die. It is not. A doubled die shows a spread on the devices.
