Value IMO is 20c. It appears to have been harshly cleaned, scratches on both sides, so any premium has been destroyed.
Even in pristine condition, it may have only been worth #2 - $3.

hmm really pristine like Mint state I think worth more than 2-3 dollars more like 10-15, but that asides from the point.
That particular coin near worthless more a curio item and also its needs to be an 1981 coin, as the 3.5 claw was from the Canadian mint.

Is anyone able to provide more details on the 3.5 claw 1981 20 cents.
Is all 1981 20 cents or only the 3.5 claws minted in Canada? Or is there any other way to distinguish it?
And what was the amount minted?
Thanks

Thanks for the info mrcruise.
That explain why I manage to find 3 Canadian mint 1981 20 cents in less than 2 weeks. The mintage is fairly high.
However all 3 I found was only average or low grade.
Any tips on how to get higher grade coins or best how to get uncirculated coin rolls?

From memory I believe they are only found in Reserve Bank of Australia rolls and not Royal Australian Mint rolls hence the difficulty in finding them in high grade because not many of these rolls exist and I do not recall seeing one for sale
Your best bet is to find one that is ex roll in high grade, most likely PCGS graded
Bay would be a good place to search for coin

Quote: Any tips on how to get higher grade coins or best how to get uncirculated coin rolls? Buying good coins is the only reliable way. If you look through bags/rolls you'll find the occasional older coin in really nice condition for its age but there are no guarantees. These days the mint doesn't roll coins themselves anymore so any roll you get will be rolled by a security company and will not be guaranteed to have any new coins or exclusively new coins.

That's interesting, I did not notice the curved details.
Will search for my coins now and have a look
