I have to ask you the question:
Why do you think that any coins "should" be graded? No coins need to be graded if they are staying in your collection. There has to be a reason. While I am not a big fan of TPG, they can make coins easier to sell in some circumstances. One of those is verifying the authenticity of a rare coin. Nowadays, most people would not want to pay a lot for a rare coin without the authenticity guarantee that comes with a TPG slab.
Of course the TPG slab also gives people confidence in the correctness of the grade, and they may be prepared to pay more.
But TPG comes with a cost and you have to decide if the increase in resale value exceeds the cost of the slabbing. If you don't plant to sell the item and you already own it, why spend more on the coin?
