I must have found a depository for someones former Eisenhower collection. I have gotten 3 rolls (each being all the same date minus one or two of opposing mintmarks): 76D, 71D, 78. I was told there is one left so I will get that next and I guess be done. Have many out there found rolls of Eisenhowers at banks. I also wondered if silver dollars were accidentally included on occasion. What are Eisenhowers going for these days?

I can buy Circulated Ikes at a local store for $1.30 each. On ebay they go for just under $2 each in bulk.

I have found Ikes frequently. I usually get them when a teller gets them confused with half dollars!
I too have wondered if you can find old silver dollars in the rolls. has anyone had any luck in this area? Supposedly the Ikes are still available from the Fed. I have requested them twice, but have never received them.

Dealers will buy Ike dollars for around $1.10-$1.15 each (or higher, depending on the date and/or condition). There is definitely more demand for higher-grade 1971- and 1972-dated Ikes, since they weren't included in mint sets during those years. I doubt you can get Ike dollars from the Fed anymore, but I know you can still sometimes find Ike dollars at the bank that customers have cashed in for face value. It never hurts to ask every once in a while, and usually bank tellers are more than happy to get rid of them. And yes, believe it or not, occasionally you may find a real silver dollar from the bank -- I have!

supposedly the fed will intermittantly supply ikes on request, ive tried several times to no avail though. Ive seen other tellers get silver dollars, but the closest ive gotten is two 1974 silver ikes.

Lots of people out of work so they are dipping into coins laying around. Also, coin collections are being robbed and just dumped into banks or coin machines.

I found a lots of Ikes. When I moved recently I deposited 200 pieces in the bank. I was wondering if you hit the bank I went for deposit.
I still have some left (hand-picked ones), anyone want to buy?

I used to have a nice stash but now I'm out. I've never once found one in any bank I've ever asked in. They are SOOO fun to leave as a tip or pay at McDonalds. Those poor kids always have to call the manager over

Ikes are definitely out there and you can order them from the Fed when they have them in stock. The problem is getting a bank to order them for you, they dont want to waste the time only to get them back when people dump them after finding no silver. Yes, you definitley can find the rare silver dollar, I've found three of them in three years of searching, 2 Peace dollars and one silver Ike clad. Actually, I work for a major bank and deal with Brinks on a daily basis. I have a few connections at various Brinks branches throughout the country. To find out for everyone here, I will call tomorrow and ask if they ever order IKES from the FED. I will also find out if they have any in stock that maybe I could arrange for pickup through my bank. Wish me luck and I will report what I find out.

I just got a roll of IKES from the bank when I asked for halves. The teller didn't have halves but offered the IKES to me. There were 19 ikes and 1 1985 JFK medeal 25th anniversary in very bad condition. So I got shorted a dollar.
