I was told a Morgan dollar should not weigh more since its silver

@Mr.O, looks like the mint spec on weight for this coin was 26.73 g, which seems pretty close to what you are showing.

 it does not get much closer to the correct weight any coin has a small variance if it has been in circulation from elements stuck to the surface or from materail scratched off. BTW, that is a nice looking coin.

Just a nice looking genuine (but standard) coin in a higher grade, from what I see on the screen.

Spec is 26.73 +/- .09 so 26.64 to 26.82 Since you scale only goes to one decimal place the coin could actually weigh anywhere from 26.75 to 26.84 I'd say you are safe on the weight.

You have a genuine coin. Coins do not always weigh exactly what they are supposed to. They can be a little over/underweight sometimes.

I am curious ... Have you put other Morgan's on your scale. If so what did they weigh?
