I thought this was from Israel, ie Hebrew script (I have it listed on ebay as such). I have received a (not so nice) message from someone saying it is Japanese. I must admit I know more about Hebrew and Japanese numerals from my coin collecting, but I'm not too good on the alphabets. Clarification please?

It is Japanese. A script known as Katakana which is usually used for transcribing foreign words into Japanese. In this case it says
#12499;#12483;#12464;#12475;#12452;#12459;
which means Big Seika. I don't know what seika is though in this context. Maybe a company or something.

EDIT: guess ccf doesn't like foreign characters

I can only add that I agree. That is not Hebrew.

Where are my manners?! What does the other side look like?

Thanks to all who replied. Yes it is Japanese, which leaves me corrected and humbled. The same design was on both sides, for those who asked. Appreciate your time and knowledge.

If it has a diameter of 25 mm it is likely to be a Pachinko token

Yes it is 25mm. I have a lot of pachinko tokens, most say pachinko or pachislo on them (in English). This may certainly be a Japanese gaming piece or advertising token. It caught me off-guard, but hey, it happens!
