On Dr. Haxby's Vickycent site he has listed four groups that are credited with having a single die.
I've shown the group "M" and group "N" the other two are the group "L" and group "O".
Below is the Group "O" coin and a couple of pictures to show it's uniqueness.
I have found this group to be the easiest to find out of the four groups.
Identification can be made by the re-engraved stem to L8 in combination with the missing stem on L10.
Many of these have an awesome display of reverse die clashes along with possible D/C's.
All comments welcome.

Cheers, Bill

There are some pretty nice clashes on that reverse! I was trying to count the number of different portrait clash marks above and to the left of the the 9 and I think I count 7.

I don't think I've ever found an 1859 that didn't have something interesting on it. They are never boring!

I have this one for many years, even before Jim posted his catalog. PCGS MS-62RB.

Nice coin Bosox, but too bad the photo doesn't highlight all the clash marks as well as Bill's. Would be nice to see yours at an angle to show all the hair-line clashes in ONE and all the inside-of-ear marks under the N of ONE (as well as all the chini-chin-chins).
Thanks Bill, mine is only VG/F so explains some of the marks on mine.

My copy has all the clash marks, but the photo file is too large to blow it up larger here.

That's a great example bosox even though the pictures are grainy looking closely I can see that the clash marks are there.
I'm sure it's amazing in hand, it's the highest grade I've seen for this unique die pair.
Thanks for sharing.

Cheers, Bill
