Hello....again. I have another 1972 for you, that appears to have the doubling on the top of the L. Is it what I think it is? I'm thinking this is all just hub doubling. Appreciate anyone's opinion! Thank you for your time. Happy hunting!

Here are some other photos I forgot to upload. Possible doubling on the top left bars of the T's?

Note the areas your looking at are incuse marks. A doubled die would be raised. Your seeing MD.

Is it doubling? I'd say yes. But exactly what kind and how important it is I honestly can not say. Could just be an artifact of the common master die doubling on those coins, or a doubled die, or not much at all. For those minor bits around the L of LIBERTY and T's of TRUST you need pretty nice coins to really know what's going on as you have to look at the whole thing and even little dings make it all hard to interpret. But either way, that's a good spot as there certainly is something going on with the top of the L, I just can't say exactly what.

Thanks to both of you. The coin looks like it got hit by a truck so I probably wouldn't keep it anyway. Thank you again and happy hunting!
