I'm strongly leaning toward this being a nothingburger, but before I toss it into the "roll-and-sell" box, I wanted to see if anyone has a different opinion.
I paused on the mm because of (1) a weak vertical line through the primary mm, (2) something SE of the primary mm, (3) a weak curved line (scratch?) just E of the primary mm, and (4) something (die chip?) between the primary mm and the "C" of CENTS.
If it is anything, it would seem to be one of these three: 1938-D Variety Vista
RPM-005 or
1938-D OMM-005 or Wexler's
WRPM-009.
I'll post the photos of the usual marker areas in a reply, since I don't want this post to be a novel. This coin is heavily worn, and I don't think any markers will be visible.
Here are the mug shots:

And a wide view of the mm:

And a closeup of the mm. There is surface glare and plenty of wear, so the photo is about the best I can get.

Again, I'm leaning toward this being nothing, but I'd sure appreciate a second opinion. Thank you!
