Hi guys,

I have found a nice 20$ in good overall condition, but it has some edge knocks. How would these affect the grade? Is it bad enough to body-bag the coin, or will it knock down the numeral grade by a point or two?

Thank you for your experience and opinion.

The rim dings are distracting. Details Rim Damage.

They look like more than just a couple bag marks so agree it would be a "details" coin.

since this is PMD, pretty deep and over a significant area of the rim it would probably designate details

Thanks guys, that's too bad as it is a rarer coin which is known as a conditional rarity. The other side is very good, equal or better than this side. But, since the value is in getting a numerical grade rather than details I am not sure if it makes sense to grade it at all.

I'd say high AU at least judging the pictures.

So, given the rim damage what would this go for approximately?

There is little to no premium for the 1915 in circulated grade, despite it's "better date" status. Considering a recent ebay example in PCGS MS-63 went for less than $1500, your AU coin with possible rim damage would likely fetch a near-bullion value. I'd guess $1250-$1300.

@Jaobler, yes I agree and will leave it to others. Better save the war-chest for better stuff.
