Mercury dime Error, This looks like a 41 with 42 stamped over damage from 41 strike error?

Not an overdate -- the scratch might hide whatever happened with the 2 but the 4 looks normal.

Yeah that gouge is PSD . Not an overdate .

To me, it looks like the gouge has just pushed up a ridge of metal to the right toward the 2. Others may disagree.
