I found this 1882 P LMC and it looks an awful lot like the WDDO-001 but cannot locate any of its markers. It could very well be a different stage all together. I know these things are notorious for being thick to begin with but, I have to rule out DDD. Insight please.

That one is a normal coin. The DDO-001 has wider devices on the LIBERTY:

Note the Doubling on the motto?
It is like this die:

(Although not matched up with the DDO-001 die, but I feel it is)
Note how the doubled dies are affected compared with normal large date cents that year? Your coin is just a normal one.

On another coin recently posted, compared with other doubled dies from the Wexler site, see how even the devices are still normal in size cmopared with other doubled die obverses.

Your coin is like the top image of a normal coin compared with other WDDO examples.

I guess what makes me questioned it was the distended doubling towards the center.

Jim, I looked at WDDO-001 on doubleddie.com and your coin doesn't seem to match. I don't think you have it, since I am not seeing that extra thickness on "LIBERTY" like you would on WDDO-001.

The large date cents dies fool a lot until they realize, 'The devices are normally wider on this large date cent.' When you see one in hand of the The other doubled dies, then you realize there is a big difference. On the WDDO-001, note the SBS side. On the LIBE areas of the WDDO-001, you can see how much wider those devices are on those dies.
