Hi, I have recently acquired this penny/dime from my great grandfather's collection. one side is of a penny, and the other is of a dime. Just wondering if it is worth anything. Any thoughts?
This is called a Magician's coin. Usually the cent is drilled out and a dime inserted to create the effect. Can you show us a close-up of the edge, please, along with rim area on the dime side.
@MrW, first welcome to CCF. Second, the frog was correct. You have a so-called Magician's coin. We see them with some frequency here on CCF. Older ones tend to be two joined halves with a seam on the edge (as is your example) whereas modern ones tend to be more of a hollowed out side and core so that the seam is on one of the faces along the rim. If you use the key words MAGICIAN COIN in the search box at the top of your screen you can see many other examples.
As to the value, the cutting and joining process has destroyed the numismatic value for the two coins, but Magician's coins are desirable to some extent. You could look on ebay for prices realized for similar examples.

yes this coin is 2 half coins joined together, an older Magicians coin, as opposed to the hollowed out coin, probably worth a little to someone..but not a home run coin..
