This looks like the Overton-109b cracked reverse. This is another reference photo.

could be an earlier die state as the die crack likely continued to deteriorate. that doesn't necessarily preclude that it could be a high end fake.

nss-52 and keith12 - can you explain why the OP's coin is a fake? I just can't see any diagnostics that make the coin fake for 100%.

That's the way I lean as well, but I was dead wrong on the '95-O dime counterfeit discussed a week or two ago, and so I'll just shut up and listen.

Quote: No one called you stupid. were we come from you cant buy a $200.00 coin For $20.00. and the stars look cartoonish I have to disagree. I've lucked upon a number of foreign coins here in the US for a tenth of their value. He may have the same situation in the UK. Also, consider that foreign coins are super cheap relative to US coins. A 200 year old coin doesn't seem to be such a big deal in Europe. Where I do agree with you is that the stars don't match what is shown in PCGS Coinfacts.

Quote: Here's the OP's reverse vs a high-end genuine O-109b.
It appears that the top arrow is at a different angle.

As an aside, I must agree with Jadey. I's sure where Keith 12 comes from you can't buy a $200 coin for $20, but I guarantee you can still find bargain US coins in out-of-the-way places in the UK and Europe. Back to your local channels.

Does the date in the post above look slightly different?

I agree that it looks similar to the picture you posted. However, it doesn't look similar to any of these photos on coinfacts.

Your link is to a different Type (XXX edge vs the OP's ||| edge) and also different Overton of course. The picture I posted came from Coinfacts and is the same Type and also O-109b: http://www.PCGScoinfacts.com/CoinIm...aspx?s=39388Again I am not saying with 100% certainty that the OP's coin is genuine. High quality counterfeits exist. The weight, diameter and appearance look good though.

I do think the 8 looks different on the 2 pics BH1964 posted. For $200 value I think I'd send it to get graded.
