I had found this penny in Louisana, but it has the Nebraska mark with the state's border outlined on it. Does anyone know any information about things like this? I just think it's funny more than anything

@kuno, I believe that there are counterstamps for every one of the United States. They are applied after the coin leaves the mint and so there is no additional numismatic value, but an interesting find nonetheless. That's actually really cool Panther! There might be a full state stamp list? And thank you Spence for the help I just think it's really neat and hopefully, I find another; but the practice is dying so probably not.

PSD Something created to make money to sell to the rubes, thinking they would be a collectable. To a true coin collector, they are just a damaged coin.

I've found a couple counter stamped pennies, I kept them, not that I think they are collectable , just think they are interesting
