The certification cost far more than the coin is worth. PCGS shows the value at $2 on the link you posted.

True the coin itself is not worth much, but the toning is worth quite a bit, plus, I'm pretty sure that is not an accurate representation of the price.

Just remember, most of the time the PCGS pictures look better than the actual coin in hand.

It's only worth what someone is willing to pay. I'm guessing the pictures of coins many of us post here are better representations of coins then what PCGS puts out there. They put out a lot of stock and photo-shop pictures.

PCGS never uses stock images for TruView certificates like that. They don't doctor the photos either which photo-shop implies. They shoot the coins raw whiles other have to picture it through the slabs. Sometimes yes they are a glamor shot, but the point was that for the lighting they do use what you see is what you get in that set up. Color is always extremely hard to picture as it will often change depending on the angle and lighting

photo-shop glamor shot.........nuf said! Phil is very open about what processing they do so none of it is what you are implying. He's not allowed to talk about the equipment setup but he will answer the questions he is allowed to about his process and work with submitters to get them images they are happy with. A lot of coins have more than one set of pictures they took. Wild accusations such as photoshoping their pictures and using stock images for TrueViews I will always correct when I see them. You don't have to like the service or use it, but accurate information about what it is and what they do should always be presented

It's already been explained. Comparing a raw picture with lots of light and high end equipment to a blurry cell phone picture is just a waste of time.
I don't care if you guys like them or not. It's clear how the pictures were taken, plenty of places take pictures I don't like. It doesn't mean any of them were using stock photos or juicing their photos like you accused them of
