Good day to all.

This looks like most of the D/D images I have seen on line. What do you think?
Thanks

Rich

Take a look @ these & then tell us why you think it's doubled die.

Ok I went to this PCGS link and looked at the D closely. It is only the D that I believe is doubled. It would be the 66 D/D FS-501. The inside of the D has a ridge of the first D inside on the NE corner. It looks like the same ridge on the coin I am showing you all. I don't see any of the D/D on the site you sent me to. But appreciate the knowledge base. Thanks

OP is talking about a D over D RPM (D/D), not a doubled die.

I can't say 100%, but I'm thinking no on this one. The MM is flattened a bit, making it harder to tell. I don't see enough similarity with these pics:

Yeah I focused on what was inside the D opening. The rest of the coin, being flattened as you say, confuses the issue. I'll keep until I find the real thing thanks to your inputs. Rich

Note the condition of your coin. Note the die flow lines on the fields, the die wear on the building. To me it looks like MD on the bottom of the mint mark. The last 400,000 looked just like your coin. Here is what a very early die state nickel would look like:

Just don't notice the shine, but note the fields and devices and bust. Then you will see the differences.

These die probably only struck less than 100 coins up to this point. They are trials of the SMS from 1964. (these were probably all left in sets)
