I noticed that one of my local credit unions has one in their lobby, but it charges 3%.

That's obviously easier than coinstar and I feel like maybe I won't anger any tellers by bringing in hundreds of dollars of coins every week lol

Thoughts?

It's not free, but 3% is very reasonable.

I have used them since 2010. My CU provides the service free of charge to VIP (me) lol. I have rolled at least $150,000 in change through the system since then. Even better if you can buy the bag of foreign dumps.

Never forget when I started back in 2009 I asked the head teller at my CU if I could buy the bag of halves off the machine, she said they just sent it in, took a year to fill the bag and she said there was a lot of silver.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors...
Roll hunting since '77
Dirt fishing since '72

Become a member, if you can and it's free.

If you dump a 1k worth of halves, the tellers have to come out a change the bag at my CU. However, I usually give them one of the proof Kennedy's in a 2x2 flip I've found while searching. It makes it less painful changing that 20 or 30 Lbs bag.
