A British dealer would grade this coin as Fine. The edge of the hair and the necklace are too worn for a VF grade. Nice problem-free specimen though

Agree with Fine - maybe gFine for the obverse.

Noticeable flat areas of wear on the former high points of the design.
To attain Fine condition, the high point areas of wear should at least retain most of their shape.
Therefore, has to be below Fine, (British grading).

VG (British grading) - the most commonly seen grade for this type and denomination.

Nevertheless, still a quite collectible coin.

The example I own (1898), is in not much better condition, but also has had an obvious old time cleaning, and now retoning.

I have had a look at U.S. dollars and decided on the Trade dollar to compare with the Sheldon grading system.
Equivalent Sheldon grading:
F-15.
