Howdy gents! What are you guys using as reference material? We all know silver is the good stuff but does anyone have a list or reference for known date errors like double-die strikes? Wondering if there is anything I am missing in my half dollar hunting. Maybe a sticky could be made for beginners at the top of this forum for all the denominations and their key dates? Thanks in advance

omegachop,

A book titled "Cherrypicker's Guide" is a good start. You may be able to find the volumes in a local book store, if you have one in your area.

Thanks for the welcome guys. This site looks to be a great resource for all things numismatic! Thank you for the book suggestion I will look into that. And I found the PCGS site actually, I got the feeling it wasn't comprehensive though

Check on some websites:

The best thing to do is to memorize every die marker for every variety.

Actually get to know what you are looking for then try to match it up with die markers.
