Hey everyone! I do believe this is my first post here, and I'm eager to join in and learn more about everything. I'm still fairly new to collecting, but it's quickly becoming one of my favorite things to explore.

Anyways, before I rant even more... I wanted to gauge some feedback in regards to this peculiar nickel of mine.

What caught my attention first was the deep round indentation on the back of Jefferson's neck.

Next is the R in TRUST, which seems raised and is followed by the U looking like it was stamped twice.

On the back, there is another indentation that actually covers the U and half of the N in UNITED.

Finally I bring attention to the upper right hand portion of Monticello and the fact it's protruding a bit in an unusual way.

Please, share your thoughts!

to CCF. Looks like PSD,post strike damage. The circle on neck looks like maybe a BB gun BB hit it.

@I3lackMage, first welcome to CCF. Second, yes your coin looks to have been struck twice by round projectiles such as BBs. In doing so, the metal deformed on both sides of the coin. Where the impact occurred, there is now a divot. On the other face of the coin, there is now a slight protrusion of metal. If you look at the protrusion on the right hand side of Monticello, it should line up with the indent on the back of Jefferson's neck. You have an interesting coin to be sure, but it is not worth a premium over face value.
