Would you guys mind giving me some idea as to the grade of this coin. I'm thinking somewhere around VF. Opinions are appreciated.

You are way off, but in a good way
Peace dollars are notorious for flat strikes and low relief but I see little to no wear at the high points(hairline from forehead to ear and the right shoulder of the eagle) and the fields are clean. Minimally, this is an AU58 but it could go as high as MS63, it just depends on whether there is any rub present or not. I am pretty adept at grading Peace dollars in hand but I sometimes have difficulty telling a high AU slider from an MS coin in photos.

I would say better than VF, perhaps EF40.
Update--it looks like I was off too...in a good way.
I was way conservative since I don't collect these.

Wow, I had done a preliminary grading and it had come to VF-30. I am pleasantly surprised. This coin was actually a freebee that was given to me.

Yeah, it's got that cheek rub but to me it looks AU55 in the pic. I'm out on a limb, I'm not experienced at grading. Feel free to tell me how I'm wrong.
