10 Ounce Silver Bar Protection - Coin Community Forum

NorthWestInvest Valued Member Canada 97 Posts	Posted 12/22/2018 2:39 pm Hey CCF! I recently just purchased 15 x 10 ounce silver bars. They all came in the original plastic but all were cracked and had tape residue. I'm looking for an alternative to remove them. I tried a food saver vacuum sealer and I was pretty upset with those results. I love the airtite holders but since I live in Canada, I cant find them for less than $5/each. Many US websites have them for $1.60/each but shipping adds a huge chunk. Does anyone know where I can either find airtite for the 10 ounce bars in Canada at a reasonable price or have any other alternatives to protecting them? I'm sure this should be a common issue since the plastic that they come in always seems to crack. (I have 12 other bars that I purchased the airtites for due to the same problem. That was a year ago and it cost me over $60 which adds .50cents/ounce to my overall stack price per ounce Report this Post to the Staff

The bags I use are solid color and I think I got 10 for $5 delivered or something like that. I get that you want to protect them at least a little bit from finger prints and such, so the freezer bag suggestion is a decent one. Report this Post to the Staff
