i picked a well-scattered $1.16 in change tonight... plus I scored an unopened bottle of water... along the way I cruised up to an air machine and found a tidy pile of thirty-nine cents in grubby nickels and zincolns..
Fantastic!

tonight I picked just fifty cents, but I also nabbed this month's third bottle of water. I'm also keeping an eye on the dates of the coins I find, watching for the 2025s. i'll probably pick one off the ground before I get one in change.

yep.. far better than what I got tonight by a very wide mile: a dime, and then rain... fortunately I found & fed all kitties just prior to the deluge.

when I was out rolling around last night it was 68* or 69*. I imagine to many people that is warm. my comfort zone is 72*-76*, below 72* starts feeling cool to me. so while the rain wasn't particularly warm, it also wasn't cold... but it was wet & uncomfortable. I got a good soaking on the last three minutes of my ride.

no, but I was aware of the pop culture significance of the name. here's how MrPink2018 happened:

i named my cat Pink because of the very pink features about his face... ears, nose, lips, etc... when he's awake and thumping around and his facial features are flush with red blood his ears & nose & lips become very pink. even his eyes have a dark pinkish hue when seen in the right lighting.

Post-Your-Stories-&-Pix-Of-Found-Money

he was a street kitty I began feeding when my previous cat Little Buddy passed in early 2016. when I began allowing him inside my apartment he would explore, roaming everywhere, and I followed him around, taking lots of pictures. his excitement & curiosity was apparent and his face was very pink, so I began calling him Pink. over time I picked up on the fact that he had an entourage of two other cats: a black & white female and a grey male. they came along with him, he allowed them to eat, but because he was an alpha kitty and finding me was his score, they had to suffer his dominance. I fed all 3 kitties outside my door and I had developed a desire to adopt all 3. I began referring to the grey male as Mr. Grey (as he was a much older and very distinguished british shorthair) and the black & white kitty as Ms. Moo, so Pink became Mr. Pink. I was able to adopt Mr. Grey, too, but I ran out of money and time and wasn't able to put the capture on Ms. Moo. my failure to catch her resulted in my going back to feed her each night after I left that apartment after having nabbed both Pink and Grey. this activity eventually led me to the nightly money-finding and kitty-feeding routine that I'm always writing about.

i discovered the ccf in maybe late 2017 or early 2018. when I joined ccf I simply used the cat's name as my handle (and I tacked on the 2018, signifying the year I joined) as I just didn't want to spend much time trying to think of something better or some clever way of utilizing my own name or using numismatic terms.

that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

as a tack-on to that story... it was during the time period 2016-2018 that I found my way back into coins. I'm a lifelong coin enthusiast & collector, going back to my teen years and earlier. as a teen I was into collecting everything-- stamps, coins, comics, bubblegum/sports cards, records, etc.-- and I drifted in and out of coins over the years. in the 2000s I wasn't collecting anything and actually unloaded all my collections of everything. by 2008ish I was making an attempt to get into gold & silver, with an eye on 'stacking'. I would nab the occasional 1/10oz gold eagle or silver eagle, and I made a weak attempt at Morgan dollar albums (i had joined VAMworld back then, but wasn't there very long, eventually giving up on morgan albums), but I didn't become hooked until 2012-2016, once I had a good-paying job. I bought a book on silver eagles and it seemed like I could reasonably attempt a silver eagle collection, so I began in earnest assembling one. by 2017 I was reading stuff about the 2017-P error cents, which eventually led me to the ccf. by then the silver eagle collection was in full swing and I was acquiring more gold eagles, too. coin collecting then began to take ahold of me again. I didn't go hog wild, I kept myself on a leash and I'm glad I did. now I have more gold and silver bullion & coins than I ever had and I think I got in at a good time, when the metals prices were affordable. the money-finding adventures of the past 7 years have helped add to my stack/stash/collection.

and here we are. still very happy to be here sharing this section of my life with all of you.

That is a great Story! Thanks for taking the time to type all that out.

When you mentioned Bubble gum cards, you reminded me of my very VERY first collection - Bazooka Joe comics. Boy that goes back a long way..

sure, I had time. it rained all day on friday. I had nothing to do but lie in bed with the cat, mostly just reading. I watched Deadpool & Wolverine again, too.
