Omg. I know, that really isn't in my lexicon, but it fit right now. I found this post last week and I am on page 32. I get a few or so pages a day. I'm flabbergasted. Mrpink2018, I am so impressed with your dedication. I think without the cats it might not have been as sustained as it was. And that dedication is the most impressive. There's so much I'd like to say but I don't have the time or space. So back to page 32 for me. See all y'all later. This is so great. Thx to everyone who's been contributing.
Bestjet, thanks for the kind words. now I'm the one who's flabbergasted! ha!! you're actually reading the entire Found Money topic from the beginning!? just for fun I scrolled back to page 32; july/august 2021... that might have been the period when I was without my ipad and dealing with a shattered cel phone. it was an extended period when I was absent from ccf, therefore not posting. I returned eventually, but I don't remember the dates. anyway, enjoy the reading. it's mostly me running my mouth on here, but there are a handful of others who find coins & currency and post their stories and pix. I love it.
key west is a weird place. I cannot explain why I find so much coin & currency. I guess it's just because I put my mind to it. without the cats, I may not have discovered this nifty thing.
okay, now it's time for my own 'omg'.
for the past 24+ hours we've had a cold front- the first of the season- pass through the keys. very windy, quite cool (the overnight low was around 60*F). in one of the two publix plazas there's a certain corner where debris collects when the winds are from the NW/N/NE. all the lightweight trash & leaves will collect there and over time I figured out to always check that corner when we have strong north winds. I have picked an awful lot of cash from that corner over the years. I didn't find anything there last night, but I did tonight:

it's still windy tonight and I was already off my bike and walking along the curb examining the collected debris and watching all the other stuff being tossed around in the wind when that note was coming at me. I quickly stomped on it. I could tell it was an FRN, but I couldn't make out what it was until I nabbed the pic and enlarged it, putting the iphone up to my face to see it... $50!! far out!! I reached down and snatched that $50 and stuffed it into my pocket; it was my first pick of the night! of course I scoured the area, looking for more, but that was it and it was enough.
cool & windy out there tonight, so I pretty much just headed for home, since all the cats were already fed. although I relaxed about the rest of the route, I did manage to pick an additional thirty-eight cents along the way home, so $50.38 on the night.

so that $50.38 gets added to cycle 19. I forget where cycle 19 sits currently. i'll have to sit and examine my scattered notes tomorrow. geez, this year might top 2023's total $ found. 2023 was $784, this year now sits at $776, with a month and a half to go. and I'm pretty sure my grand running total has passed the $4,100-mark. wow. just... wow.
