cooler than usual down here, TWC says we have 69*, north winds 15-25mph w/higher gusts... the winds started picking up last night. I checked the money corner at about 1am, lots of leaves and debris but no cash; no one was out yesterday & last night, everything was closed, as expected. we'll see what I find there tonight.
those of you reading along here know that I have been very eagerly awaiting black friday. I'm sure everyone is aware of my fondness for the metals- Au/Ag. I have been anticipating lift-off for the metals for the past couple of weeks. I was a little concerned that the lift-off would occur before or by black friday (look at today's charts!), so by the time I had everything ready for black friday-- more than a week ago-- Ag was hovering around/under $50 and Au around or just above $4K. I had waited all year for black friday, but because the metals were staged for lift-off any day, I opted to jump the gun and I turned in a bunch of street money a week ago or so. my pkg is already at the post office, I'm just waiting to see the delivery notification. my free metals are now just 1 more bike ride away.
does it bother me that I skipped black friday sales? NO! I didn't turn in the entire amount for cycle 18, so I still have a bunch of dollars to turn in. there will be xmas sales. I'm now aiming for that. so what I have coming right now is part 1. part 2 will be arriving in 3-4 weeks or so.
it was important to me to get that purchase in before lift-off, and I just barely made that happen. I knew lift-off was coming and I got my purchase in just before it happened. now I just have to observe the charts for the next several days (after the weekend, of course) to assure that we do indeed have a bona fide lift-off, not a head fake, before I pat myself on the back too much. for now, though, I'm pleased with having done the deed the way I did.
up up and away! it'd be nice to see the metals launch higher, and then pull back again just a bit, but probably not all the way back down to their newly-established floors... just a bit, just enough to make the xmastime sales a bit sweeter. it's time to start sticking it to the comex.
my goal is to turn in as many failing dollars as possible, as quickly as possible, for as much metal as possible. it's a tricky thing to navigate. so many facets to this thing, sometimes it's hard to know when is the right time. I'm just following my gut. my gut told me a week ago to not wait another week. looking at the charts today, it seems I made the right call.
